About the Author
Captain Michael J. Lockwood is a commercial airline pilot for United Parcel Services of America (UPS). He has been flying for UPS for almost fourteen years since serving his country in the first Gulf War and Somalia. He graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy with a bachelor's of science degree. He then went on to be a distinguished graduate from Air Force Pilot Training. Lockwood was born in Port Author, Texas, the eldest of three children. He grew up in a small town where he fell in love with being outdoors, fishing, eating seafood, and working in his grandfather's automotive repair shop. It was his grandfather who instilled in him a no-nonsense work ethic. His two hardworking parents reinforced the message that a real man should always work and provide for his family. Lockwood is by no means one dimensional when it comes to work; he's a pilot, a commercial real estate developer, philanthropist, and now author of Women Have All The Power...Too Bad They Don't Know It. When not working, Lockwood's favorite pastimes are snowboarding, playing tennis, golf, and board games with his wife and daughters. Michael is a God-fearing man who is a loving husband, father and son.

Girl Power!!!

I read the book and as long as you can get past terms like "mac daddy" then you should be truly enlightened or inspired. We read his for a book club meeting and the impact it had on women was worth publishing. Michael came to the meeting and he is truly a stand up guy with great intentions and love for his wife and 3 daughters. I strongly suggest you have your teens read this and women, read it yourself so you know where you are a Y2K woman or not.... laughing.. when you read you will understand, and every woman will find herself, whether past or present!!

Taught me a Few Things About My Power

Very good book, very informative. I recommended it to a few girlfriends of mine.
My only caveat is that he's extremely bias on his preferences, likes and dislikes in a woman. He doesn't speak for every man (ie. prefers long hair over short, thin over thick, non-smoking over smoking, non-tattooed over tattooed). Let that individual man make that preference.
Also I disagree with some things he said regarding why Black women had to play the lead role (his explanation was that some Black women were threatened by Black men, (yeah right). All in all a good book and a great read.

Ladies, use your power to purchase another book!

Women, I encourage you to use your Power to choose another title to purchase and read. This book is poorly edited with a significant number of typographical errors. Moreover, it reads much like a rant from a disappointed lover rather than a wise well-meaning father. The author's chauvansitic views include encouraging women to abstain from sex until marriage (as indicated in the Bible) but notes that men need time to be 'playas' before committing. I believe the Bible encouraged both parties to refrain from pre-marital sex? His idea of career planning for women dictates that your decision would not be guided by interests and talent but your ability to work fewer hours and/or only from your home to insure your consistent availability to date 'successful' men, to help them with their dreams and careers, and once chosen for a wife, ultimately to raise the children and to complete household chores. I've heard more interesting, well-researched dialogue on the subject of modern day relationships sitting in my local coffee shop!
